Turn your blog posts to podcast with AI and Summurai

Content consumption is moving towards audio

Over the last few years, we see a dramatic shift in content consumption. According to DemandSage, by 2024, the number of podcast listeners will pass the 500 million bar worldwide, that’s half a billion.

Another outstanding stat by Edison Research shows that in 2023, spoken word is taking 31% of all audio time. In other words, spoken word is giving a fair fight to the music industry.

Adding audio to your content strategy

The obvious question we all need to ask is what we are doing with this trend.
While a large portion of companies have a podcast or plan to invest in one over the next year, if you look at the amount of content companies create, the focus is still on written content.

Content marketers keep creating more and more blog posts, white papers and eBooks and promoting newsletters. All of these focus on textual content, missing the opportunity to move into the listening time of your busy target audience.

Three lanes – video, audio and text. Video and text are full, while the audio path is empty.

The growing consumption of audio provides a opportunity to repurpose content and get more attention, traffic and time.

Repurpose your content with audio, AI and Summurai

Audio presents a much bigger opportunity for marketers. Besides that podcast you are trying to promote, what if you could turn every piece of written content created by your team into audio?

With the recent progress of AI tools in general and audio technologies specifically, we were able to build a tool that will allow turning your blog posts into audio and publishing them as podcasts with a minimal effort.

Summurai is much more than a text-to-speech engine. While other TTS generators stop only create a voice file, leaving it for you to figure out what to do with it, we designed Summurai to become your audio content management system, allowing you to create audio items, embed them in your blog and digital assets, share them with your brand identity, host them as playlists in your website, use them as lead-gen engines and track their performance.

Getting started with Summurai’s Voice Studio

As soon as you log in to the Summurai Dojo (Summurai’s admin system), go directly to the “Voice Studio” on the left menu bar. You’ll be able to add the subject and content of your blog post manually or use the “Import from blog” option on the top. It’s important to go over your text and make sure that it was imported correctly. Importing the blog content depends on the technical structure of your blog and may load some of the meta data around the blog content.

Turning your text into audio

Once your text is clear, it’s time to listen to the different voices and find the tone of voice that fits to your message. We keep on adding more voices to make sure you get as many options to choose from. When you find the right voice for you, make sure to mark it with a star. This will move it to the top of the list, to make your work easier next time. It’s time to click on “Create Summy” and get your voice ready.

That’s it! Your Summy is ready!

The Summy is not just an audio file. It’s a combination of elements that create an optimized content experience for your audience and a great way to push your business forward, with a combination of brand identity, visual, text, audio and call-to-action.

The Summy structure – combining text, audio, visual, brand identity and CTA.

Use the “Edit” option to edit the visual and add a call-to-action button. Once you are ready to launch, use the “Share” option to get a sharable link or add this Summy to your playlist.

Creating a Summurai playlist, and loading RSS to podcast platforms

Each Summurai playlist can contain multiple Summies and can be exported to an RSS file. The updating RSS is way to the podcast. In order to publish a podcast on Spotify or any other podcast platform, all you need is to provide a link to an RSS.

Let’s get back to strategy

Now that you know what Summurai is all about, and you see how easy way it is to turn your content into audio, it’s time to look at it from your content strategy point of view. Turning your blog into a podcast is just one option. In addition to that, you’ll be able to add audio to your blog posts with Playter and turn visitors into leads, you’ll be able to create an audio channel in your website and you’ll be able to create playlists that can be used as lead magnets.

Audio can bring a boost to your content strategy and it’s time you move your focus to enjoy that.
